Non standard automated assembly machines can be divided into three types according to their structure:

(1) Flexible assembly units utilize one or more robots to complete various assembly tasks at a fixed workstation according to a program;

(2) The flexible synchronous system with multiple workstations consists of a fixed or dedicated assembly line composed of a conveyor mechanism, controlled by a computer, and each can be programmed and have optional workstations, thus possessing flexibility;

(3) The flexible automatic assembly machine with a modular structure is composed of equipment, tools, and control devices required for assembly, and can be enclosed or placed inside protective devices.

1. Testing process

The inspection process includes the inspection, examination, and testing of assembled components. On the one hand, the inspection process ensures the quality of the assembly, such as whether there are defects in the installed parts, whether the direction and position of the installed parts are accurate, the dimensional accuracy after installation, sealing quality, assembly quality, etc. On the other hand, it deals with various faults during the assembly process.

2. Adjustment process: Adjustment process is the correction of the position of components with installation deviations after the assembly process.

3. Auxiliary process: The auxiliary process includes cleaning, marking, sorting, and other steps for the assembly parts.

4. Mechanical machining process: In some automatic assembly equipment, one or several specific parts are also machined during the installation and fixation of components.
